Week 1 - Art

Title: A Story
Size:  8 and 1/2 by 11 inches
This artwork portrays the way I feel while reading a good book. You just step out of reality and into another place.

This piece was outlined in pen and colored with colored pencil.

I'm quite happy with how this turned out. My one problem was that I forgot to take the background into account when I planned how to get this done in 2 hours. So I spent 45 extra minutes trying to get the hills drawn, colored, and looking right. :D

My favorite part is the antelope. Definitely the antelope.

  1. I LOVE this picture! First of all, your style is very unique and beautiful--I love the ethereal swirls you've got going on with the hair, coat, and antelope's ears combined with the adorable cartoon-esque elements of the girl's face and proportions. The landscape behind is also fabulous, and it's amazing what you've done with color in this drawing. But my favorite thing is how relatable it is! I, too, can get swept away to new worlds by reading, and by the time I'm done I feel like I've gained a new friend--like your antelope :) This is spectacular!

    P.S. I love your profile picture :)

  2. It is an interesting picture. I love how you used different color sets and that you made it unique. I love how you make it so that you step out of reality and can dream and imagine. Way to go. :D

  3. The colors of the picture give the background a feeling of peace and stillness while the foreground intimates change and curiosity.
